About me
Honesty, clarity and confidence
Singing is all about performing with honesty, clarity and confidence. Easier said than done! But it's a joy and a privilege when it goes well.
All aspects of the technical side are important – stance, breathing, phrasing, utilising and perhaps extending your vocal range and choice of material.
Whilst I give a great deal of attention to these matters, I believe their importance lies in enabling you to free your voice, and communicate your song or aria in the way that is ultimately most natural to you.
I've been singing professionally for twenty-five years, and intend to continue my professional singing career for many years to come. Here's a link to my singing web site.
Much of my work has been in opera, and I've sung with many of the main companies in Britain as well as in America, Holland, Germany, Italy and Malta. I've also had considerable experience of cabaret and concert work.
So I understand all too well the excitements, the challenges, the pitfalls and the terrors of trying to make music with your voice! It's just the same, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned professional.
I'm interested in all types of singing, from opera to pop to folk to ballads, and I'm strongly aware that I'll never stop learning myself. And as I acquire new skills myself, I'll aim to pass them on to you.
